We are looking for a Junior Project Engineer (Engineering Professional nec) to join the team! In this role you will be responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of the implementation of a new digital workshop management system (Odoo) to enhance and streamline operational workflows across the technical and service departments. This role involves applying mechatronic engineering principles, project management skills, and IT knowledge to optimize service processes, support system transition, and ensure technological integration within a rapidly growing electric vehicle service company.
This is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week based in Southport, QLD.
Main tasks:
- Coordinate the implementation of the Odoo ERP/CRM system to replace the existing software (HubTiger) used in workshop operations.
- Analyze current business processes and operational workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend digital improvements.
- Lead the configuration and customization of software modules to suit the company’s technical service environment.
- Apply mechatronic and IT engineering knowledge to ensure software alignment with technical procedures and workshop standards.
- Develop process documentation, system manuals, timelines, training material, and internal guides to support adoption.
- Collaborate with technical teams to align the software features with workshop repair workflows (e-bikes, scooters, etc.).
- Monitor the project implementation milestones, report progress, and mitigate risks or technical issues.
- Provide training and ongoing support to staff to ensure smooth system integration and adoption.
- Liaise with external software developers and stakeholders to troubleshoot and optimize the system.
Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:
- Relevant Engineering bachelor’s degree, and at least 1 year of industry experience in the past 5 years.
Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of workshop operations and technical service environments
- Experience with ERP/CRM systems (Odoo preferred)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Annual salary will be between $76,500.00 to $90,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
