The Company:

Our client is a leading engineering contractor who has been specialising for over 25 years in a comprehensive and unique range of ground engineering solutions including ground anchoring, slope stabilisation, shotcrete, architectural shotcrete, retention & foundation piling, specialist civils contracting and ground improvement.

Our client has an exciting permanent opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join their Brisbane team.

This role is a FIFO role that will be working a roster of 2.5 weeks on and 0.5 week off (17 days / 4 days) on multiple projects across the far North QLD. This projects are a combination of disaster relief road works and road widening works.

You’ll be reporting directly into the State Operations Manager and the Project Management team.

Your Main Responsibilities:

• Technical Expertise: Providing technical guidance and support on all aspects of ground engineering and civil works.
• Team Leadership: Managing and coordinating the activities of engineers, subcontractors, and other personnel involved on the projects.
• Stakeholder Communication: Liaising with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure clear communication and collaboration.
• Quality Assurance: Completing quality control procedures and conducting site inspections to ensure that all work meets the required standards.
• Cost Control: Monitoring project costs, managing budgets, and reporting on financial status.
• Compliance: Ensuring that all works comply with relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols.
• Document Management: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of project activities, including plans, designs, reports, and correspondence.
• Procurement: Assisting with the procurement process for materials and services.
• Site Inspections: Regularly inspecting work sites to ensure that work is being carried out according to specifications and safety standards.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Previous experience in a Project Engineer role working on Ground Engineering projects (Essential requirement).
• Tertiary Qualified in Engineering / Geotechnical Engineering (Essential requirement).
• Required experience in: Ground engineering solutions including ground anchoring, slope stabilisation, shotcrete, architectural shotcrete, retention & foundation piling, specialist civils contracting and ground improvement (Essential requirement).
• Excellent communication skills - with internal and external people.
• Full Drivers License.
• White Card.
• Full Australian working rights - No sponsorship available.
