Position Overview:
We are seeking a professional, charismatic and detail-oriented Maitre D’ to lead the front-of-house team and act as the face of our dining room. This is a key guest-facing role that requires exceptional service skills, a natural sense of hospitality, and the ability to manage and inspire a small, passionate team. You will work closely with the General Manager and Head Chef to ensure a seamless and elevated dining experience for every guest.
Key Responsibilities:
· - Greet and seat guests with warmth and professionalism.
· - Lead the front-of-house team to ensure smooth daily operations.
· - Manage bookings, floor plans, and guest flow.
· - Coordinate closely with kitchen staff to maintain pacing and service standards.
· - Foster a welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable service culture.
· - Train and mentor front-of-house team members.
· - Manage guest feedback and resolve service issues with grace and discretion.
· - Oversee cleanliness and presentation of the dining area.
· - Maintain familiarity with the seasonal menu and wine list to guide guest experiences.
· - Ensure adherence to licensing laws and responsible service of alcohol (RSA).
Key Skills & Requirements:
· - Minimum 2–3 years experience in a senior front-of-house role, ideally as a Maitre D’, Restaurant Manager or Supervisor.
· - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· - A genuine passion for hospitality and guest care.
· - Confident in managing both high-end service and rustic, relaxed atmospheres.
· - Strong organizational and time management skills.
· - Familiarity with reservation systems and POS software.
· - A team player with leadership capabilities and high personal standards.
· - NSW RSA required.
· - Wine knowledge and interest in food provenance a plus.
