The Director, Financial Statement, Reporting and Asset Accounting is a temporary role for six months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. You will lead a small team of finance professionals in the provision of financial reporting and asset accounting services to the Directorate. This includes working with the finance team and the business units to establish sound asset management processes, develop and deliver the Annual Financial Statements, and manage internal and external audit requests and other reporting requirements. The breadth and variety of the Directorates operations ranging from managing multi-million-dollar infrastructure projects to concessional community tenancy arrangements, you will be exposed to a range of technical accounting issues, suiting individuals who thrive on new challenges.
You will have a high level of autonomy in determining how the outputs of your team are delivered and will be strongly supported in pursuing opportunities for business process improvements. You will also need to demonstrate you are highly organised, can effectively liaise in all directions and can communicate very well both orally and in written form and are experienced in managing financial reporting and audit function for a complex and dynamic organisation. You will need advanced skills using Microsoft Excel and demonstrated experience with financial reporting systems and tools to deliver this role. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Highly desirable;
- Tertiary qualification in accounting/finance.
- Membership and professional accreditation or progress thereto of a peak Australian accounting body such as CPA or CA.
- 5+ years of public accounting and/or private industry experience with knowledge of accounting and finance areas.
- Experience in using TM1, CDM, Oracle E-Business suite, GBMS, AGBMS and TARS (ACT Treasury systems)
Notes: There are multiple positions available immediately for a period of six months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
