About the role

Environmental Service Assistants are a key member of the South West Healthcare Support Services team. Environmental Service Assistants work with other Support Services team members to undertake a range of clinical and non-clinical cleaning duties which supports the well-being of patients, staff and the community.

The Environmental Service Assistant is likely to have contact with patients, staff and visitors to the hospital and will demonstrate effective inter-personnel skills and an ability to work cooperatively and flexibly to not disrupt the operation of the Health Service.

• Classification: Cleaner/Patient Transport Assistant
• Salary Range: $31.09 per hour up to $33.85 per hour, plus superannuation

• Ability to work within a team environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Effective communication skills
• Great customer service skills
• Capacity to operate unsupervised when required
• Fantastic time management and ability to develop efficient routines
• Able to work weekends, public holidays and/or change shifts across a 24-hour, 7 day a week roster
• Previous commercial cleaning experience preferred (but not essential)
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and requirements in a health service setting
