Join a leading media broadcast company as a full time Network Engineer. The organisations state-of-the-art digital playout facility provides services for the largest media networks across Australia, allowing efficient and resilient broadcast content delivery.

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development,
configuration, and maintenance of IP networks. You’ll be a subject
matter expert in the design, configuration, delivery, maintenance and monitoring of network hardware, components, and services. You’ll also identify and implement improvement opportunities, to ensure company is aligned with both networking and cyber security best practices.
You will be required to display a technical, logical thought process, an ability to stick to strict deadlines, prioritise and delegate, and a keen eye for detail.

Role Responsibilities

• Design, configure, deploy, and maintain company LAN, WAN, VLAN, VXLAN/EVPN and VPN networks.
• Install, configure, and maintain network equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls, and gateways.
• Monitor network performance and analyse network traffic, utilizing network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
• Uplift/maintain network security through the implementation of various security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access control lists.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for all network-related processes and solutions to ensure adherence to SLAs.
• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.

Position Requirements

• Relevant industry certifications, such as CCNP and NSE4/FCP.
• At least 6+ years’ experience in a Network Engineering or Network Security role, with strong skills using a range of networking technologies (e.g. Arista DCS Platforms, Fortinet).
• Strong design and maintenance skills for LAN/WAN (video, data, and multimedia).
• Strong knowledge around industry benchmark network monitoring tools (Icinga, Zabbix, Arista CVP).
• Strong knowledge of QOS configuration on bandwidths.
• Demonstrable experience of network routing, switching, and integration (such as STP, RSTP, MLAG, IOS, FORTI OS and Arista EOS)
• Expert understanding of network security principals, including access control, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
• Experience using and applying ITIL incident and change management to network management to ensure effective and timely infrastructure management.
• Knowledge and experience in Dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
• Knowledge and experience in real-time video networks. Multicast technologies (PIM, IGMP) is a plus.
• Prior experience in the broadcast television industry is advantageous.
• Prior experience in security uplift programs, and implementation of security policies will be seen favourably.
