Powering Australia is on a mission to help Australian clean-tech manufacturers scale their businesses and compete on the world stage.
We are funded by the Federal Government as an Industry Growth Centre. Our work spans clean-tech manufacturing including: batteries, solar, wind, carbon, industrial decarbonisation, First Nations, transport, transmission and distribution.
THE ROLE
Australia’s battery sector is rapidly growing which means we need quality training, skills and workforce development initiatives to support people participating in these industries.
The Battery Training Lead will design and deliver battery training and education initiatives to ensure that Australia’s battery workforce remains at the cutting edge of an exciting, complex and rapidly changing industry.
The Battery Training Lead will develop a deep knowledge of battery industry training needs and of Australian training providers. They will use that knowledge to arrange technical masterclasses, facilitate industry training opportunities and open doors to advanced battery manufacturing facilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Build a comprehensive catalogue of available battery training courses.
· Design and deliver technical masterclasses for professional staff with approved delivery partners.
· Facilitate training opportunities for industry stakeholders and VET trainers, at national and international research and pilot facilities.
· Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness to maximise impact and engagement.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
· Degree qualified in engineering, chemistry, materials science, energy systems, workforce development, or a related discipline.
· Have 5+ years of proven experience in education and training, or industry engagement.
· Strong knowledge of battery manufacturing processes, energy storage technologies, or related technical disciplines.
· Ability to design and implement training programs to meet industry needs and grant deliverables.
· Be an excellent communicator and collaborator who has the ability to manage stakeholder expectations.

· A salary of $130,000 plus statutory superannuation.
· Ability to salary sacrifice to maximise your earnings.
· Central CBD in Brisbane, Perth or Melbourne, close to public transport (other capitals may be considered).
· Some interstate travel will be required.
· Fixed term contract of 2.5 years.
