For a client of expertech, we are urgently looking for an Engineering Manager to join a successful scale-up in a disruptive space. This role could be ideally suited to a Tech Lead who has managed a team of 3+ and wants to take the next step up in their career path.

Key responsibilities

• Drive your team to ship predictably and efficiently, turning sprint commitments into reality
• Own the end-to-end software development cycle across feature delivery, technical design, testing, release, and support
• Remove blockers, foster agility, and deliver against ambitious product goals
• Guide architectural and infrastructure decisions that support scale, resilience, and security
• Lead adoption of modern practices including AI-enhanced tooling, automated pipelines, and scalable service design
• Raise the technical bar by instilling robust standards across code, infra, and CI/CD
• Hire, coach, and grow engineers to be high-performers and future leaders
• Embed clear feedback, growth plans, and accountability across your team

Essential skills and experience

• 3+ years leading software teams in fast-paced, agile environments
• Experience with modern SDLCs, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure and distributed systems
• Strong architectural instincts and ability to make tradeoffs with product, scale, and security in mind
• Proven people leadership - feedback, coaching, growth planning, hiring
• Technical proficiency in TypeScript or a comparable language, and comfort across backend, frontend, and infra
• Ability to work effectively across time zones and functions

Desirable skills and experience

• Experience working with Kubernetes, Docker, Cloud Run, or GCP
• Familiarity with GraphQL, event-driven systems, security best practices, and observability tooling
• Passion for emerging technologies, AI-enhanced workflows, and innovation in engineering process

The key stackt is Full stack TypeScript with Node (Nest) and Vue (Nuxt) connected to (GCP) Cloud. Familiarity with this stack is beneficial but not essential. We are looking for candidates with excellent solutions design capabilities and people management skills.
