The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Library Technician to coordinate and deliver customer-focused library services at our Devonport Campus.

• Assist students and staff in accessing publications and navigating digital resources.

• Manage equipment and guide users on its application.

• Support learning through collaboration with educators to ensure access to relevant resources.

• Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff and trainees.

• Contribute to procedural documentation and apply quality assurance processes.

What You Will Bring

• Strong ICT skills including experience with library systems and online research tools.

• Advanced understanding of cataloguing and bibliographic principles.

• Proven ability to provide excellent customer service in a library or information service environment.

• Knowledge of library procedures, including circulation, stock maintenance, and acquisitions.

• High-level communication and problem-solving skills.

• Experience supervising and mentoring staff in technical environments.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, service-driven setting.

Essential Requirements
• A Diploma in Library and Information Services or equivalent post-secondary qualification

Desirable

• Experience working in a vocational education and training (VET) or tertiary education setting.

A current Working with Vulnerable People registration is required, or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.
