About the Positions
The City is offering an exciting opportunity for two proactive, adaptable and engaging professionals to contribute to the economic growth and development of the City.
These positions are part of a dedicated Service Unit which is responsible for protecting and enhancing the City’s reputation and improving economic prosperity for local businesses and the community.
Economic Development Officer - Full-time (76 hours per fortnight) / Permanent
Salary: $97,455- $104,959 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience
This role is a key point of contact for businesses whilst also being responsible for the planning and implementation of economic development projects. Under the supervision of the Principal this position is required to proactively project manage key initiatives that support and grow local businesses, attracts private investment and engages the public sector to facilitate sustainable economic development that has a benefit within the City of Cockburn.
To be successful in this position you will require a tertiary qualification in Commerce, Economics, Business or similar. You’ll have demonstrated experience in a similar position with high levels of stakeholder engagement and you have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You have strong research skills and you’re able to work autonomously.
Economic Development Assistant - Full-time (76 hours per fortnight) / Two-year fixed-term contract.
Salary: $82,049 - $87,516 per annum depending on qualifications and Experience
This role supports the implementation of programs, projects and events which empower local businesses and facilitate employment growth. This role also maintains an efficient administration function.
To be successful in this position you’ll have an eye for detail, excellent customer service and communication skills and strong writing and researching abilities. You’ll be able to coordinate and attend events which may be held early mornings, evenings and weekends – for this you’ll need a driver’s licence.
