About the role
Due to some internal promotions within the finance team, my client are currently seeking to recruit a driven, motivated and passionate Assistant Accountant who is keen to learn and take accountability for your day to day tasks. This role is a 12 month Fixed Term contract supporting the Senior Accountant and suited to someone with a couple of years of accounting experience who is either currently studying CA/CPA or looking to shortly.

Job Responsibilities

• Supporting Tax functions; Annual FBT, BAS and GST.
• Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations across intercompany transactions
• Consolidation of trial balance
• Audit and investigation of intercompany balances to ensure that journals have been posted correctly by wider finance team
• Revenue recognition of sales/margin adjustments
• Business partnering across finance team
• Support monthly P&L preparation
• Assist with external audit requirements

The Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Commerce
• Approximately 2 years accounting working experience ideally in a high volume environment
• Either studying towards CPA/CA or desire to be shortly
• Can take accountability and responsibility for their workload; take pride in the work they produce
• Resilience in personality
• Strong Interpersonal and Communication skills to build up relationship across finance team, ability to communicate with non-finance stakeholders
• Attention to detail
• Keen to learn and absorb training
