As the Economic Development Officer – Visitor Economy, you’ll lead engagement with the new Visitor Economy Partnership and local businesses, fostering growth and regenerative tourism. You’ll work closely with government agencies, industry bodies, and advisory committees to deliver key initiatives from the Tourism East Limited partnership and the Destination Management Plan.
This role sits within the Economic Development and Investment Team, part of the Economy, Tourism, and Culture Department, and contributes to building a resilient, future-focused local economy.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead tourism development initiatives and stakeholder engagement
Deliver partnership actions and support local business growth
Advocate for balanced tourism and enhance visitor experiences

20 weeks paid primary caregiver leave (6 weeks for secondary caregivers) plus other generous leave options such as family planning and menstrual and menopause leave.
This is a full-time permanent position with a band 6 salary range between $95,565 and $104,167.
Experience and skills we’re looking for
Tertiary qualification in economic development, tourism management, business or a related field; and/or significant relevant industry experience.
Experience delivering regional programs, projects, and initiatives in economic development and/or destination management and the visitor economy.
Established local and regional tourism industry and government agency networks would be an advantage.
Highly collaborative and ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
