An exciting opportunity exists to join our GIS Team as a GIS Officer.

Primary Purpose
Contribute to the decision-making and operational needs of the council by supporting the delivery of spatial mapping services.

· Maintain the council’s spatial system to inform decision-making, planning and service delivery.

· Coordinate data collection and data improvement programs to ensure accurate and accessible information.

· Promote the use and development of GIS services throughout the council to ensure efficient service delivery.

· Contribute to the development and implementation of work practices and procedures to achieve the council’s strategic goals and continuous improvement.

· Assist with Crown, Land and Road matters to support efficient service delivery.

· Act as Mapping Officer in the Local Emergency Operations Centre when required.

Promote information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision-making, enhance capability and optimise capacity.

Have you also the following:
Certificate IV qualification in Spatial Information Services or equivalent, or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through experience.

· Contemporary experience in administering spatial databases and associated systems.

· Demonstrated ability to produce maps using QGIS or equivalent software.

· Demonstrated ability to provide a high standard of customer service to internal and external customers.

· WorkCover accredited Construction Induction (NSW) White Card.

· Class C drivers’ licence.
