About the role
- Provide drug and alcohol information and advice, evidence-based counselling interventions and informal referrals on the phone and web messenger services to people impacted by their own or someone else's substance use.
- Available to work shifts on a 24-hour roster over 7 days of the week with minimum supervision.
- Working across multiple service lines including the Alcohol and Drug Information Service (ADIS), Opioid Treatment Line (OTL), Stimulant Treatment Line (STL), and the Early Drug Diversion Initiative (EDDI) program.

About you
- Relevant qualifications and professional credibility - You hold a tertiary qualification in nursing, counselling, social work, psychology or a related field, and are eligible for membership with the relevant professional body.
- Proven experience in AOD and / or mental health - You have hands-on experience providing clinical care, including assessment, brief intervention, and counselling to people impacted by their own or someone else's substance use.
- A client-first, evidence-informed approach - You understand and apply contemporary alcohol and drug treatment frameworks, including harm reduction, person-centred care, reducing stigma and discrimination in health care, cultural safety, and strengths-based practice.
- Strong communication and digital skills - You're confident and compassionate on the phone, have excellent written communication, type at least 40 WPM, and can navigate Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems with ease.
- A collaborative and solutions-focused mindset - You're a great team player, an active listener, and you know how to assess client needs and provide practical, effective support with empathy and professionalism.
