About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Contract Administrator to oversee the full lifecycle of commercial agreements related to the trading of precious metals and pawnbroking operations. This includes managing purchase and sale contracts for gold and other commodities, as well as loan agreements where funds are issued against secured assets such as jewellery, bullion, and high-value items.
The successful candidate will support legal compliance, monitor performance, and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and strategic partners.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts with clients, suppliers, and business partners.
Draft and administer loan agreements for pawnbroking operations, including money lending contracts secured against gold and valuables.
Ensure all contracts comply with applicable laws, including Australian commercial and pawnbroking regulations.
Maintain accurate records of contractual and loan transactions in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Respond to inquiries and resolve issues related to lending terms, redemption conditions, and sale of unredeemed items.
Monitor contract and loan performance, ensuring obligations and deadlines are met.
Collaborate with legal counsel to manage risks, disputes, and contract variations.
Stay informed on changes in legislation affecting contracts and lending activities.
Assist with audits, reporting, and internal compliance reviews.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum 3 years of experience in contract administration, commercial law, or lending services.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
Fluency in English is required; fluency in Spanish preferred, enabling effective communication and collaboration with international markets.
Strong understanding of Australian commercial legislation and the regulatory framework for pawnbroking and lending.
Excellent negotiation, organisational, and communication skills.
Familiarity with market research methodologies and tools.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple agreements concurrently.
Previous experience in commodities, pawnbroking, financial services, or regulated trading environments (desirable).
Must be legally authorised to work in Australia.
