Role impact & contribution

Your typical day-to-day work will include Supporting government investment decisions and risk management in the development and delivery of projects and programs to ensure successful outcomes. The role is responsible for coordinating assurance reviews in collaboration with subject matter experts across various government agencies, in line with the NSW Gateway Policy and the Recurrent Expenditure Assurance Framework (REAF) principles.

This position contributes to the design, implementation, and delivery of performance and trend analysis, as well as the timely and accurate reporting of gateway review outcomes. It also plays a key role in the continuous improvement of Gateway policies, frameworks, procedures, process documentation, and the REAF Assurance Portal. In particular, the role supports evidence-based policy enhancements informed by insights from trend and performance data.

Additionally, the role may involve providing seasonal support for Annual Appropriation Management responsibilities.

Proactively building robust relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders is paramount, as is your contribution to improving the delivery of outcomes across the NSW Government through effective communication, collaboration, and advocacy with Treasury teams and agency counterparts.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

· Excellent project management skills and experience coordinating and delivering projects within highly regulated and confidential environments

· Experience or knowledge in periodic financial and non-financial performance reporting.

· Highly organised with a proven ability to deliver outcomes, efficiently and effectively and with rigorous attention to detail

· Strong bottom-up Excel modelling skill

· Excellent communication skills - ability to clearly convey technical and complex information and analysis in a concise manner, in plain English and in different ways (verbal, written and visual) appropriate to the audience and its purpose

· Adaptable and experienced in managing changing and conflicting priorities

· Ability to speak up, contribute ideas and commitment to continuous improvement

· A commitment to creating an inclusive culture and encouraging diversity of thought
