ABOUT US
Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Council was founded and is still led, governed and directed by women from the NPY region. It was created to give a voice to women across 26 desert communities in the cross-border regions of Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory. Today, we continue to provide progressive, innovative and evidence-based work in service delivery, advocacy and support.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Tjungu (together) team provides support, advocacy and care coordination to ngaltutjara tjuta – people with disabilities, elderly people, and their carers & families. Tjungu was chosen as the title for the program to reflect the fact that aged, disability and mental health issues often overlap ad require workers and families to meet these challenges together. Tjungu philosophy and principles support the rights of older Anangu people and people with disabilities to live in their community so that family and relationships can be maintained and spiritual and physical connections with country are continued.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Disability Project Officer to join our Tjungu Team on a Fixed-Term contract, based in Alice Springs. The Tjungu Team provides support, advocacy and case management to people with disabilities, elderly people, and their carers and families.
