The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Aged Care and Disability Services Cook/Officer to join our team at Groote Archipelago Regional Council in Umbakumba, NT. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality nutritious food services for our Aged Care and Disability Services clients, as well as assisting with a range of day-to-day support services of the Aged Care and Disability Services Program.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve well-balanced, nutritious meals for aged care and disability services clients

Ensure meals adhere to dietary requirements and client preferences

Maintain a high standard of kitchen cleanliness and food safety

Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individual care plans

Contribute to the continuous improvement of aged care and disability services

Maintain accurate records and documentation

What We're Looking For

Relevant experience in aged care, disability services or community support

Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification

Strong cooking and food preparation skills, with an understanding of nutrition and dietary requirements

Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, or willingness to obtain within the first month of employment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients and their families

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality, client-centred care

Current NT Class C driver's licence with the ability to drive manual vehicles
