We currently have an opportunity for a Road Safety Officer to join our Engineering and Technical Services team.
In the role of Road Safety Officer you will:
- Prepare and implement a road safety action plan
- Have responsibility for road safety planning and policy in Council and for the development, coordination and implementation of local road safety programs
- Investigate, prepare and implement road safety actions
- Develop, coordinate and implement local road safety programs
- Assist in regional road safety programs
- Assist in the application process for grant funded projects.
What we offer...
- Permanent full-time role, 35 hours per week
- Annual salary from $90,676 to $99,970 (salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience)
- Plus 12% superannuation
- Progressive annual salary up to $110,217
- The option of a leaseback vehicle for operational or private use
What you'll need to be successful in the role...
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering/Management, Communications, Behavioural Sciences or related disciplines
- At least 4 years extensive relevant experience
- Experience in traffic engineering and or traffic management
- Experience attending Local Traffic Committee Meetings, preparing plans and writing appropriate report
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and management including Police, Transport, and the community
- Experience in investigating road safety issues and customer complaints, analysing current traffic control and traffic management, making recommendations in accordance with the standards, and addressing traffic management related issues
- Experience in Project Management of community programs, including education and presentation with community groups
- Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills with a strong customer focus
- Experience in research and statistical analysis
- Understanding of the current Safe Systems Approach to road safety
- Class C Driver’s Licence.
