Reports to: Operations Manager
Primary Purpose
The Project Officer should be familiar with Bila Muuji Aboriginal Corporation Health Service and the programs within. The Project Officer will assist in the implementation of the project support activities that contribute to the development and delivery of the program.
The following key responsibilities may be modified from time to time and are a guide (i.e. other responsibilities may be identified). With the following responsibilities priorities or appropriately delegated to ensure safety and quality care of families, employees and the service.
The Project Officer will report directly to the Operations Manager on the development of the program and projects.
Frequent Travel is required.
The Project Officer role will:
Assist in the coordination of activities associated with the project
Communicate with key stake holders and build support networks to assist in the development of the project
Provide assistance to program participants and families who are high risk and live with complex needs
Ensure and adhere to company policy and procedures
Ensure compliance with the relevant legal requirements
Selection Criteria
Essential
Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander - Aboriginality is a genuine qualification and is authorised by section 14 of the Anti– discrimination Act, 1977
Demonstrated Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and experience working with Aboriginal Health programs or related area
Demonstrated experience in the relevant field (Social Work, Community Services)
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of Cultural values
Good leadership qualities
Demonstrated experience with computers and software
Desirable
Experience in working in a health-related field or Non-Government Organisations or Aboriginal Controlled Service
Thorough understanding of children and families with multiple and complex needs
Experience in research and community engagement
Additional Requirements
Possession of a current Driver’s License valid in NSW is required
Current National Police Check
Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
