Dance Program Facilitator in Primary Schools
Dance Curriculum
Posted 7 hours ago
Dance Curriculum provides world-class dance programs to Primary Schools across Australia & New Zealand, run by passionate male role models. We are a small team doing big things. We use dance as a tool to help children develop a love of learning, and building a strong sense of community with full-school performances.
Our team members are very close-knit and passionate about our roles, which is evident in our long-term employment, with 4-10 years of service. Each team member is looked after, valued, and given as much support as needed.
Due to rapid expansion, we are looking for a team member to join us in Sydney.
Training would preferably start near the End of July, to be ready to teach unassisted by October.
What will I be doing?
Traveling to primary schools predominantly in Sydney and the surrounding region
Engaging children through our in-school dance programs. These typically run daily for one to two weeks.
Building professional relationships with the staff and students of each school
Running large-scale parent performances with 300 - 1000+ people for each school.
Occasionally traveling interstate or to NZ for extended periods (1 - 2 weeks usually)
Why work for Dance Curriculum?
Full on-site training with the team, building your presentation skills, learning our unique teaching methods, and developing your engagement skills on a microphone.
We are a great team that supports each other inside and outside of our teaching.
Travel opportunities interstate and even to New Zealand.
Part-time work hours, typically within the hours of 8.30am - 3.30pm, Mon - Fri. Often starting later or finishing earlier, depending on the school.
A very competitive hourly rate that will grow as your independence grows.
Annual team building week where we choreograph our routines and prepare for an awesome year.
Paid school holidays (10+ weeks per year)
A meaningful role in society - develop children's love for learning and receive constant glowing feedback from students, staff and parents.
What will I need?
Experience in dance. No particular style is required, but this is a dance teaching role.
An Australian Drivers License
A reliable car for driving throughout Sydney/NSW
A NSW Working With Children Check - This can be attained prior to starting your role. Likely will need WWCC from other states as well (we can help with this)
Experience teaching/working with children is preferred.
What skills will I develop?
How to present and engage large audiences
How to teach dance in a clear and effective way
How to engage even the most reluctant learners
What now?
Please apply through Seek with your resume.
A video introduction of yourself would be advantageous and help you stand out!
