Based in Bayswater, Victoria, the company provides a comprehensive suite of services from third-party logistics, global sourcing, precision machining, expert fabrication, to meticulous assembly.
Due to continued growth, the company is seeking a Quality Engineer to join the team and drive productivity improvements.
About You
As a Quality Engineer, you will report to the Quality Team Leader and play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and maintaining strong customer relationships. This hands-on position will see you working closely with the production team and production engineers to proactively identify, analyse, and solve problems.
The successful candidate will drive product quality compliance, contribute to strategic business goals, and effectively manage minor projects and change initiatives. A strong customer focus and a passion for continuous improvement are essential.
Duties and Responsibilities
Drive and ensure adherence to the Quality Management System, focusing on ISO 9001.
Conduct quality audits to assess conformance and identify improvement areas.
Develop and maintain systems to capture defects and prevent non-conformances.
Ensure 100% compliance to agreed customer specifications for all products and processes.
Act as a hands-on resource within the production team to analyse root causes of defects and implement corrective and preventative actions.
Liaise with customers on quality discussions and inquiries.
Complete ISIRs (Initial Sample Inspection Reports) and other customer quality reporting.
Liaise with suppliers and ensure incoming materials meet quality specifications.
Project manage minor projects and change initiatives as they relate to quality, including product revisions, minor product introductions, and process improvements.
Maintain meticulous records of quality data, and generate reports on quality performance, audit findings and improvement initiatives.
Complete scheduled workplace inspections and monthly safety checks.
Foster a safe and hygienic working environment for all stakeholders.
Key Requirements
Formal qualification in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial).
1-2 years of industry work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrable knowledge of Quality Management System, specifically ISO 9001 or equivalent standards.
Strong customer focus is essential.
Hands-on approach and problem-solving ability to identify issues, conduct root cause analysis, and develop practical solutions.
Ability to identify improvement opportunities and drive initiatives independently.
Strong verbal and written skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders and produce clear reports.
Meticulous attention to detail regarding quality processes, documentation, and compliance.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in CAD software is highly desirable.
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma principles) is an advantage.
Benefits
Salary of $80,000 to $85,000 + Super commensurate with experience
