The Role
Reporting to the Senior Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will play a pivotal role in supporting financial operations, reporting, compliance, and business planning. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional to contribute to a high-performing team in a varied and hands-on role.

Responsibilities

• Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations, accrual schedules, and payroll reconciliations
• Prepare monthly management and financial reports
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and business case scenario modelling
• Assist in internal and external audit processes
• Monitor, analyse, and report on accounting data
• Manage contract administration and fixed asset entries
• Support compliance reporting including BAS, FBT, and other statutory requirements
• Review and contribute to policy and procedure development
• Collaborate with stakeholders on finance-related queries and provide financial insights
• Assist in the payroll function when required
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team

The Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess:

• Must have experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier environment
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance, with CPA or CA membership (or working towards)
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• A proactive approach with demonstrated initiative and ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
