About the Job
We are currently seeking for a Graduate Engineer to work at our Newcastle Dairy Farmers Construction Site on a permanent full-time contract.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Graduate Engineer is responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of construction projects by assisting in both site-based engineering tasks and contract administration under the supervision of senior staff.

The Graduate Engineer duties include but are not limited to:
· Assist with reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and design documentation to ensure consistency with project requirements.
· Contribute to the development of construction methodologies in collaboration with engineers and project managers.
· Participate in site inspections and quality control processes to verify that construction work meets engineering and compliance standards.
· Help identify technical issues on-site and support the resolution process with design consultants or engineers.
· Assist in monitoring materials, construction progress, and engineering compliance with plans and regulations.
· Support the preparation of technical documentation, reports, and records relating to construction activities.
· Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure accurate technical interpretation of drawings and instructions.
· Contribute to health, safety and environmental reviews from an engineering and compliance perspective.
· Procurement of sub-contractors and suppliers and issue scopes of works for trades required to complete the project in accordance with the construction program to achieve the most efficient use of resources.
· Preparation, review, and administration of construction contracts in line with head contract requirements.
· Assisting in the achievement of optimum outcomes regarding safety, quality, reliability, and capacity to meet delivery program schedules relative to program costs.
· Assist and compile the administration of the subcontractor’s performance against the scope of works and construction program and control authorisation of variations, extensions of time and payments.
· Assist and prepare in the maintenance of cost control, forecast revisions and project financial reporting.
· Preparation and administration of head contract progress claims to the Client Assess, process and manage subcontractor claims, invoices and variations to ensure accuracy and compliance with contract terms and works completed on site.
· Maintain a complete understanding of the scopes of works.
· Compile the establishment and monitoring of the procurement program and off-site activity schedule.
· Assist with Subcontract management and subcontract administration, including assistance in preparation of monthly final forecast cost estimates (FFC’s) for trade packages and review of major variation and monthly trade FFC’s with project team.
The ideal applicant will possess:
Tertiary degree in Engineering.
Strong interest in commercial contract administration and project delivery.
Computer literate in MS word processing, Excel, MS Project, Outlook, Power Point.
Understanding of or experience with Budgeting, Forecasting and Cashflow.
Prior working experience with CHEOPS, ProcurePro and Payapps or similar job cost accounting software.
Prior working experience with Aconex or similar.
Prior working experience with Microsoft Projects.
Flexibility to work on different locations and construction sites.
Position details and benefits:
This is a full-time permanent position.
The salary range for this position is between AUD $ $76,515.00 - $86,515.00 (excluding superannuation).
