Our client is seeking a commercial manager who will report to the General Manager - Commercial & Customer. The role will be responsible for the efficient management of new and existing relationships, contracts, negotiations and supply chain solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring commercial contracts are established, effective and managed with appropriate contracts and documentation in place.
- Managing and developing complex contract negotiations with external customers and stakeholders including stevedores, towage service providers, container park service providers, shipping lines, freight forwarders and customers.
- Managing the development, analysis, monitoring and continuous improvement of commercial contracts and reporting metrics to facilitate consistency, effectiveness and efficiency.
- Developing and managing Customer quality management and reporting metrics to ensure capacity is being maximised to the extent possible under existing executed contracts throughout their lifecycle.
- Establishing and executing strategies to support customer relationships so that the Commercial Team delivers experiences that exceed our customer expectations.
- Managing, developing and supervising KPI performance with Customers.
- Providing strategic commercial and contractual support throughout the business.
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or 6-8 years’ experience in a relevant field.
- Extensive experience in stakeholder management at a senior level.
- Demonstrated experience in negotiating complex contracts.
- Experience working in a commercial environment.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence effectively.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and able to optimise commercial value and drive improvements across the value chain.
- Extensive contract management experience and professional knowledge of commercial principles.
- Working knowledge of key contractual terms and conditions, managing commercial contracts in a similar environment.
- Experience in contract development/management and a fair understanding of project management principles.
- Excellent written communication skills for preparing contractual notices and commercial documents
- Demonstrated experience in successfully applying change management methodologies to plan, design, and implement change efficiently with committed stakeholders.
