About the Role:

We are looking for a qualified and experienced accountant to support our business's operation. Your role will include the preparation of financial accounts, income tax returns, regular client interaction and preparation of quarterly activity statement This role also involves working with SMSFs.

You will need to perform the following duties:

Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.

Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.

Analyse business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.

Provide clients with financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans and operations.

Develop, maintain, and analyse budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.

Develop, implement, modify, and document record keeping and accounting systems using software technology.

Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, and maintain solutions to business and financial problems.

Assist in formulating budgetary and accounting policies and maintain up-to-date records of government agencies.

Conduct financial investigations. prepare reports. undertake audits and advise clients accordingly.

Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies, and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts.

Provide internal auditing services for businesses and individuals including examining operating costs.

Provide assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements.

Liaise with financial institutions to establish funds management arrangements.

Introduce and maintain accounting systems and advise on the selection and application of software accounting systems.

Maintain internal control systems.

The essential requirement for this position:

Tertiary Accounting qualifications essential.

At least 3 years close related experience in a commercial environment.

Well-developed communication skills, written and verbal.

Team player.

Highly organised.

Sound time management skills.

Ability to multi-task.

Strong work ethic.

Salary setting:

AUD 80000 – AUD 85000 plus 10.5% superannuation
