MinStaff Survey is a consulting surveying firm that has operated since 1995 to provide specialist services to mining, civil, construction and land development projects.

Currently our Company is seeking to appoint a Civil Drafter/Design Technician in a full-time permanent position.

The successful applicant will play a key role in modelling, drafting and detailing projects such as residential and industrial land subdivisions, civil works for industrial and commercial sites, road and highway infrastructure and bulk earthworks projects.

The role will provide critical support to our survey teams and clients working within the civil sector through building models, calculating volumes and substantiating project claims.

Reporting to the Survey Manager the role will contribute to delivering innovative solutions and data for use by survey teams and clients across road, infrastructure and development projects.

This role will suit an experienced 12D user/designer who has worked on all aspects of civil projects; from design through to final construction.

The position will support our survey teams throughout South-East Queensland and assist our remote projects around Australia. This is residential position, with the applicant choosing to be based in any office location (Toowoomba, Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast or the Gold Coast).

The role

Interpreting and interrogating civil designs, plans and models supplied by Engineers and clients for project construction and conformance use

Prepare detailed as designed models using 12D Model (land subdivisions, road infrastructure, drainage, sewer & water systems as well as associated infrastructure)

Interfacing with associated disciplines such as planning, survey, engineering, traffic, electrical and landscaping

Interacting with clients regarding project needs ensuring that expert and quality service is delivered

Collaborating with various offices, project teams and clients

Ensuring compliance with industry standards & regulations

Preparation and validation of design models used for machine control construction

Contributing to quality control and project reporting

The person

Demonstrated civil design/drafting experience

Demonstrated experience using 12D Model in a civil or survey background

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

Understanding of Machine Models for construction techniques from a survey or civil perspective

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Sound communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
