About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Design Engineer who will play a key part in delivering high quality pavement design and material solutions across a variety of exciting projects. From supporting tenders and developing alternative designs, to solving complex technical challenges, conducting construction reviews and driving innovation through research and workshops.

Responsibilities

Support our professional services team with pavement design, mix design, geotechnical investigation, research development, case studies and product development.

Utilise resources for efficient data management and collaboration.

Contribute to our technical roadshows, industry working groups and conferences.

Work with our Professional Services team to eventually be in a position to engage with our customers on design/construction processes.

Collaboration with project managers, engineers, and other team members to understand and execute design and research project requirements.

Participate in our innovation programme to identify opportunities and help progress initiatives to commercialisation.

Manage deadlines relating to the role effectively to contribute to the overall success of the professional services team.

Frequent short-duration travel (within the work-week) to other Hiway business units Australia-wide, with occasional travel to New Zealand.

Key Attributes

Degree qualification in Engineering or a related discipline

CPEng or on the path to achieve CPEng within 2 years

Proficiency in CIRCLY 6.0 and 7.0 modelling

Excellent report writing skills with strong attention to detail developing technical documents

Familiarity with Austroads and State pavement design specifications

Proven ability to balance and prioritise multiple tasks effectively

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain
