About The Role:
This newly created role offers an exciting opportunity for an analytical and pro-active Management Accountant to make a meaningful impact at Carers Queensland. As a key player in our Corporate Services Team, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality financial insights that empower effective decision-making across all levels of the organisation.
You’ll work in close partnership with operational teams to provide expert financial planning, performance analysis, and strategic guidance, ensuring our budgeting, forecasting, and internal reporting processes reflect and support our mission and long-term objectives. In addition to your core responsibilities, you’ll also step in to assist fellow Finance Team members when needed, offering support during high-demand periods or leave coverage. Some key duties include:
- Provide high-quality and time-defined finance-related support across the CQ accounting framework
- Develop and maintain rolling forecasts and annual budgets in collaboration with business unit managers.
- Analyse financial performance, identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Deliver monthly management reports with commentary and insights.
- Support scenario modelling and business cases for strategic initiatives.
- Work closely with business unit managers to understand financial drivers and improve financial literacy.
- Provide financial advice to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Assist in pricing, funding applications, and cost allocation models.
- Produce accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc internal reports.
- Monitor KPIs and dashboards to support performance improvement.
- Contribute to board and executive reporting packs.
- Drive improvements in budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Contribute to enhancements in financial systems, tools, and automation (e.g., Business intelligence tools i.e., Power BI).

- A full-time 2-year contract role in our Corporate Services Team with work from home days available (up to 2 days per week upon completion of probation, depending on operational needs) based at our Corporate Office in Lutwyche, close to public transport and with onsite (paid) parking.
