Local Land Services (LLS) are looking for an experienced Communications Officer to help tell the story of the vital work LLS does across NSW. This role will see you coordinate, develop, and deliver tailored communications strategies that align with our broader organisational goals.

You will work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to inform, educate and promote LLS projects, activities, and achievements. Whether it’s crafting compelling content for digital channels, developing innovative campaigns, or providing specialist advice on complex communications challenges, this role is all about making an impact.

This is an ideal opportunity for a communications professional passionate about supporting NSW land managers and stakeholders through clear, coordinated messaging across key programs. As part of a small, agile team, you’ll deliver customer-focused communications aligned with the annual Programs & Partnerships calendar, driving measurable outcomes across key program areas including Private Native Forestry, Natural Resource Management, and Animal Biosecurity & Welfare.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Coordinate communications across multiple LLS programs and ensure alignment with timelines and deliverables
  • Tailor messaging to meet the needs of diverse audiences while maintaining LLS brand consistency
  • Collaborate closely with Principal Program Managers and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive campaign planning and delivery
  • Monitor and report on communication outcomes, escalating issues or resourcing needs to the Team Leader
  • Remain adaptable, switching focus across programs and platforms as priorities evolve

Our Ideal Candidate

You’re a proactive, collaborative communicator who thrives on delivering clear, targeted messaging in a complex and geographically diverse organisation. You know how to tailor content for different audiences and use a wide range of channels to achieve cut-through.

You’ll also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders to deliver successful communications strategies and campaigns.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to distil complex concepts into clear, accessible language.
  • A NSW Class C Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel throughout NSW as required.

Why Work With Us?

  • Be part of an organisation that makes a tangible difference in regional communities.
  • Work in a collaborative, supportive team environment.
  • Enjoy flexible working arrangements and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Join the NSW public sector with its strong values of integrity, service, accountability, and respect.
