About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef / Tandoor Specialist/Dosa Specialist to join our team at Sankalp The Taste of India in Hillcrest, SA 5086. As a full-time role, you will play a vital part in delivering our authentic Indian cuisine and exceptional dining experience to our customers.

What you'll be doing

Preparing and cooking a range of traditional and contemporary Indian dishes using specialised tandoor ovens

Maintaining high standards of food preparation, presentation and quality control

Assisting in menu planning and recipe development to ensure our offerings remain innovative and appealing

Adhering to all food hygiene and safety regulations in the kitchen

Providing guidance and support to junior kitchen staff to uphold our high standards

Contributing to a positive, collaborative team environment in the kitchen

What we're looking for

Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Chef or Tandoor Specialist in an Indian restaurant or similar high-quality establishment

Formal culinary training and qualifications in Indian cuisine

Exceptional skills in preparing and cooking a wide range of authentic Indian dishes, particularly tandoor-based specialities

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and presentation

Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Excellent time management and organisational skills

Good communication and customer service skills
