The opportunity
In this role, you will support the delivery of Warrigal’s quality and compliance program to meet the Aged Care Quality Standards across multiple locations, including the Illawarra and Southern Highlands with travel to Queanbeyan, and the ACT when required. You will conduct internal audits, review policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards. You will also contribute to risk-based planning, prepare audit reports with recommendations for improvement, and track the implementation of audit findings. Additionally, you will collaborate with management to resolve issues, assist in the development of an audit training program, and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders. You will support Warrigal’s continuous improvement initiatives, ensure accurate and timely documentation, and contribute to the review of policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned by the Operational Quality and Compliance Manager.

The requirements | What it takes to do this work
Essential:
- Registered Nurse with current registration under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Substantial experience in the Aged Care industry, specifically in a quality-related or similar role
- Proven experience in conducting audits
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and solve problems effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare comprehensive reports
- Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in using computer systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel within a Microsoft Windows environment
- Solid understanding of the Aged Care Act and Aged Care Quality Standards
- Valid Driver’s License
Desirable:
- Experience with healthcare information systems such as iCare
- Experience in conducting Root Cause Analysis and recommending improvement strategies
- Graduate Certificate in Internal Auditing or equivalent qualification
- Experience in quality systems auditing, such as ISO 9001
- Proven experience in providing education related to aged care
- Demonstrated ability to apply project management principles effectively
