About the Position
We are looking to welcome a Program Coordinator to lead the new Sexual Abuse Counselling service in Cairns. This encompasses providing leadership, mentoring and supervision and to a team of four therapeutic practitioners. The role will build on Act for Kids’ government and community corporate stakeholder relationships to grow and sustain referral networks.
- Full time position.
- Government funded until 30 June 2028 with the possibility of extension.
- Level 7 under the SCHCADS Salary range is $119,094 - $124,074 + Super.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a clinical team to deliver high quality outcomes within a culture focused on impact, accountability and innovation and ensure team members fulfill the requirements of their roles.
- Provide supervision and leadership to the team, with a focus on practice excellence.
- Support team members to undertake external training in evidence-based models such as Trauma Focused CBT and the Harmful Sexual Behaviour assessment and intervention AIM Suite.
- Establish and maintain collaborative sector partnerships to enable seamless service delivery including sexual abuse treatment networks.

About You
- A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (allied health, social work, human services).
- At least five years’ experience in a therapeutic/recovery setting working with children, young people and their families who have been impacted by trauma, child sexual abuse, family domestic and sexual violence.
- Clinical and therapeutic understanding of the impacts of trauma on child and family functioning.
- Management experience within a therapeutic service delivery context.

- Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
- Current driver’s licence.
