The Opportunity
This is your chance to play a key role in shaping the careers of Australia’s future public service leaders. As a Program Officer, you’ll join a passionate and dynamic team responsible for delivering high-profile graduate and apprenticeship programs across government. These programs are a vital part of building capability across the public sector, and your contribution will have a real and lasting impact.
In this role, you’ll gain exposure to a broad range of HR functions and program management activities – from recruitment and onboarding to learning and development and stakeholder engagement. You’ll work closely with participants, senior leaders, and external providers, giving you the opportunity to grow your professional networks and develop highly transferable skills.

The Role
As Program Officer, you will support the effective management and delivery of entry programs across the department.
- Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, and program evaluation
- Facilitate events such as inductions, training, networking sessions and completion ceremonies
- Support participants and their supervisors throughout the program, addressing and escalating issues where needed
- Build relationships with a range of stakeholders including participants, supervisors, third-party providers and other APS agencies
- Manage program administration tasks such as budgets, procurement, and contracts
- Prepare reports, guidance materials and communications to support program delivery

Salary / Rate
- $90k - $96k per year plus Super
- 12 Month Non-ongoing
- Open to Permanent transfer at level
- Open to Temp transfer at higher duties
