OUR COMPANY
Powering Australia is on a mission to help Australian clean-tech manufacturers scale their businesses and compete on the world stage.
We are a Federally funded Industry Growth Centre. Our work spans clean-tech manufacturing including: batteries, solar, wind, carbon, industrial decarbonisation, First Nations, transport, transmission and distribution.
THE ROLE
Australia produces roughly half of the world’s battery minerals, and has world leading uptake of residential and grid batteries. Knowing how much of a product is “Made in Australia” will help consumers choose Australian products, delivering better outcomes for our people and the environment.
The battery supply chain is long, complex, and constantly evolving. There are around 9700 different residential battery systems sold in Australia and hundreds of utility scale systems. These products are built from thousands of parts sourced from around the world, and sometimes from minerals and refined products made in Australia.
We’re looking for a Local Content Analyst to work in a small analyst team to develop a database of local content levels across Australia’s critical minerals and battery manufacturing ecosystem. This local content data will allow manufacturers to benchmark their products and capitalise on local supply opportunities. It will help government better target procurement in the Buy Australia program and incentives like the Battery Booster Initiative.
You will also run our local content certification program, a service designed for the benefit of Australian industry.
You will be comfortable with working in complex datasets, have a general familiarity with the industry and the capacity to understand the components that come together to build products across the value chain.
