About the role

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-focused Accounts Receivable Officer to join our Finance Department. You’ll play a key role in ensuring billing accuracy, claims follow-up, and professional handling of patient and fund enquiries.

Key responsibilities include:

· Timely preparation and submission of patient accounts to health funds and third- party payers

· Investigating and resolving billing discrepancies or rejected claims

· Monitoring and following up on outstanding debts

· Maintaining billing systems (e.g. health fund contracts, MBS codes, prostheses pricing)

· Daily receipting of payments from health funds and patients

· Handling billing-related enquiries from patients and providers

· Preparing self-insured quotes and estimates

· Assisting with internal and external audits

· Generating regular reports on billing performance and KPIs.

Essential skills & experience

· Experience in accounts receivable, billing, or similar admin role

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

· Excellent time management and organisational skills

· Professional written and verbal communication

· Ability to work independently and in a small team

· Confidence using financial or patient management systems

Desirable criteria

· Previous hospital or healthcare billing experience

· Familiarity with health fund contracts and MBS billing

· Experience with patient management systems, such as webPAS

· Experience with TechOne / CiA or similar ERP/finance platforms
