Position Overview
SVdP(S)HA is looking for a part - time Accounts Receivable to join our finance team (0.6 FTE) Flexible working days.
The Accounts Receivable Officer is responsible for managing the receivables process relating to tenant rent, government subsidies, and other income streams in a community housing context. The role ensures timely and accurate rent and tenant recharges invoicing, receipting, account reconciliation, and effective communication with internal teams to support housing sustainability and financial compliance.
The role
Generate and process rent and non-rent charges, adjustments, and receipting in the housing management (Zavanti) and finance (Business Central) system
Daily bank posting for tenant receipts and bank reconciliation
Preparation of weekly cash flow.
Monitor tenant accounts to identify arrears and work collaboratively with tenancy teams to support early intervention and arrears management.
Reconcile receivables and control accounts and ensure accuracy in tenant ledgers, subsidies and other funding allocations.
Assist in bond lodgements.
Review rent and non-rent adjustments and refund request
Prepare regular reports including aged debt summaries, rent arrears reports, and grant reconciliation.
Assist with end of month and audit processes as required.
General accounting support to the whole team.
Assist with ad hoc projects as required.
Your Background
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in an accounts receivable role, ideally in community services, housing or not-for -profit sector.
Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and previous experience in housing/finance software Zavanti and Business Central will be highly regarded.
High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Strong reconciliation skills.
Excellent time-management and organizational skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams
Capacity to implement and work within the Mission and Code of Conduct of St Vincent de Paul (Society) Housing Australia.
