We are looking for an experienced Aged Care Chef who is happy to work in a rural/remote location in Far North QLD.

You'll be working in a stunning location alongside a small team of staff and a very supportive Facility Manager.

Reporting to a very experienced Facility Manager

The Role

A pivotal role within this small-community focused aged care home in Far North QLD.

It will be your job to prepare high quality meals whilst maintaining hygiene standards and creating diverse menus to keep the residents enthusiastic about the food they eat.

You will be working as part of a small team and supported by a kitchenhand and hospitality coordinators.

Requirements

Experience cooking, preferably in an aged care or healthcare setting

Certificate III & IV in Commercial Cookery/Hospitality

Knowledge and experience in working to the compliance of the Food Safety Standards and Aged Care Quality Standards

You must take pride in your presentation and be able to adapt meals to suit different dietary requirements

Food Safety Certificate

Availability to work weekend shifts

Previous experience working in a rural/remote location

Experience working in indigenous communities - highly desirable
