About the role

This full-time Chef role at Finncare in Thornlands, Queensland offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise in an aged care setting. As an integral part of the catering team, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering delicious, nutritious meals that cater to the diverse dietary needs of our residents.

What you'll be doing

Plan and prepare wholesome, appetising meals using fresh, high-quality ingredients

Ensure all meals adhere to strict dietary requirements, including texture-modified and culturally specific diets

Collaborate with the team to develop innovative, seasonal menus

Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen

Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff to uphold excellent standards of food preparation

Assist with stock management and ordering of supplies

What we're looking for

Formal culinary qualification or equivalent experience as a Chef

Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within an aged care or healthcare setting

Exceptional cooking skills with a keen eye for presentation

Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and nutrition standards

Strong communication and teamwork skills to liaise with residents, families and staff

Ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Professional and respectful communication style, with the ability to engage clearly across all levels
