We’re now seeking a dedicated Chef to join our team and help lead daily kitchen operations, creating nutritious and appealing meals that enhance the wellbeing of our residents.

About the Role

As our Chef, you’ll be responsible for preparing and presenting delicious, tailored meals that meet a range of dietary, cultural, and medical needs. You’ll supervise kitchen staff, maintain food safety standards, and ensure a warm and respectful mealtime experience. Working closely under the guidance of the Catering Supervisor, you will help create a collaborative, high-performing kitchen environment where resident wellbeing is the top priority.

🕒 Hours: This is a full-time position (76 hours/fortnight), rostered Tuesday to Saturday, 9:30am–5:30pm. One day per week will commence at 9:00am (day of your choosing).

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve high-quality meals aligned with planned menus and individual dietary needs

Provide guidance and daily supervision to Kitchen Assistants

Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards

Maintain kitchen records (temperature logs, cleaning schedules, stock rotation)

Collaborate with care staff to meet resident preferences and nutritional requirements

Assist with inventory control and ordering

Foster a supportive kitchen culture aligned with the Catering Supervisor’s direction

What You’ll Need

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (required)

Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (highly desirable)

Previous experience in aged care or healthcare kitchens (required)

Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills

Compassionate, culturally aware, and resident-centred approach to food service
