AO4 Assessment Officer
Salary: $58.02 per hour + super
Location: Toowoomba
Duration: 6 months with a view to extend
Role
The position involves analysing, assessing, and determining matters related to the delivery of government agency services, including building disputes, home warranty insurance claims, compliance, and licensing.
Key Outcomes and Accountabilities
- Analysis and Assessment: Evaluate building dispute matters, licensing applications, and insurance claims, including declining claims and compliance matters, in accordance with relevant legislation, policy, and procedures.
- Scrutiny and Review: Make decisions that can withstand scrutiny and review.
- Professional Communication: Maintain a professional standard in all customer communications, including case notes.
- Caseload Management: Manage caseloads to achieve throughput measures.
- Advice and Representation: Provide advice to consumers, contractors, and industry stakeholders regarding building industry regulation administered. Represent QBCC in promotional and educational activities and in hearings before tribunals and courts as required.
- Support Regional Service Centre: Contribute to the operations of the Regional Service Centre, including face-to-face customer service at the front counter and supporting your team in customer service provision.
Candidate Attributes
- Customer Assistance: Help customers, including homeowners and licensees, navigate legislative conditions. Engage with customers and stakeholders to educate and advise them on their rights and responsibilities.
- Relationship Building: Foster a culture of professionalism and compliance by building strong relationships with customers.
- Evidence-Based Analysis: Focus on evidence-based reporting and good decision-making, grounded in legislation and policy, that can withstand review. Maintain high professionalism in program areas.
Ideal Background: Candidates ideally come from a project building background, claims, disputes, or licensing.
