About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join OneBuild Construction Group Pty Ltd as a Leading Hand Carpenter. As a Leading Hand Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day work on site. The full-time position is responsible for supervising a team of carpenters and ensuring high-quality, efficient and safe work practices are maintained across the site.

The role includes

Oversee and coordinate the work of carpenters and sub-contractors to ensure all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard

Provide hands-on carpentry work as required, demonstrating best practices and mentoring junior carpenters.

Monitor and maintain safe work practices, including conducting toolbox talks and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations

Identify opportunities for process improvements and communicate these to management

Maintain accurate records of work progress, material usage and labour hours

What we're looking for

Relevant trade qualification as a carpenter, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a leading hand or supervisory role

Strong carpentry skills and the ability to plan, organise and oversee the work of a team

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with all stakeholders

Thorough knowledge of construction industry regulations, standards and best practices

Proficient in the use of power tools, hand tools and construction equipment

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
