GAF Accounting is seeking a dedicated full-time Accountant to join our professional team. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality accounting services across diverse industries. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare high-quality financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports for a wide range of clients, ensuring all documents comply with statutory and regulatory standards.
• Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements, GST, and other statutory returns for clients. Provide tailored tax advice to help clients maximise their financial position while ensuring full compliance.
• Perform reconciliation of client accounts, including bank, credit card, and ledger reconciliations, and investigate any discrepancies in financial records.
• Assist clients with preparing budgets and financial forecasts, providing detailed variance analyses to help with financial planning and cash flow management.
• Maintaining records of financial transactions, and general ledger entries, and ensuring accuracy in all financial documentation.
• Serve as a trusted advisor for clients by providing them with financial analysis, business insights, and recommendations to support their strategic decision-making and financial growth.
• Assist clients in preparing for external audits by providing documentation, and explanations, and addressing audit queries to ensure a seamless audit process.
• Work with clients to identify inefficiencies in their financial processes and recommend improvements to streamline their accounting practices.
• Assist clients in implementing and optimising accounting software (such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks), ensuring efficient and compliant use of technology.
• Build and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with clients by understanding their business needs and delivering personalised financial solutions.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis and provide clients with data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years relevant accounting experience (commercial business experience preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or a related field.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships and provide personalised services to clients.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
