Job Title: Controls Service Engineer (Electrical)

About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and technically skilled PLC Controls Service Engineer with added capabilities in client engagement. This hybrid role combines hands-on technical support and troubleshooting of automation systems with pre-sales and after-sales support, helping drive our growth through customer relationship management and solution selling.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical / Service:
Independently perform complete PLC programming for an industrial conveyor system
Programming of Siemens / Allen Bradley / Beckhoff PLCs
Interfacing of PLCs with Robots (Fanuc /ABB robot exp. preferred)
Preparation and programming of HMI screens
Integration of PLCs with other automation devices like servos, VFDs, RFID readers, vision systems, etc.
Programming of safety PLCs / safety relays
Provide support for machine testing activities
Assist in the implementation of additional features in the machine as per site demand.
Prepare all documentation related to the PLC & HMI program
Travel on-site if required for machine commissioning and program modification.
Generate spares & service business as per the assigned target on a monthly basis.
Sales & Customer Engagement:
Managing Pipelines of new enquiries.
Identify potential service and automation upgrade opportunities while at customer sites.
Support the sales team with technical knowledge during pre-sales meetings.
Prepare and present proposals for service contracts, retrofit solutions, and minor automation projects.
Develop long-term relationships with key clients to promote repeat business.
Assist in preparing documentation and technical inputs for bids and proposals.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Automation Engineering or related field.
3+ years of hands-on experience in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and industrial automation.
Prior exposure to customer-facing roles or sales support is preferred.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider, etc.).
Familiarity with SCADA, HMI programming, and VFDs.
Ability to read and interpret control wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
Basic understanding of networking and industrial communication protocols.
Sales & Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Customer-first attitude with the ability to identify value-added opportunities.
Confidence to engage with clients in both technical and commercial discussions.
Ability to prepare technical documentation and service reports.
Commercial acumen and understanding of project cost/value.
Desirable:
Experience in end-of-line packaging automation or material handling systems.
Knowledge of safety standards and risk assessments in industrial settings.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across client sites.
