About the role

The Assistant Accountant will assist the Finance Manager in executing all aspects of the accounting & finance function, including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, journals, reporting, and audit.

Unlike larger businesses, you will not be “pigeon-holed” into a specific area (to the detriment of your professional development) – our Finance team is cross-trained on all aspects of the accounting & finance function.

You will receive hands-on training from both the Finance Manager and the CFO in relation to your direct responsibilities as well as your broader foundational skillset (e.g. Excel proficiency).

Key Responsibilities

Process daily cash transactions (AP and AR functions)

Weekly and monthly pay run processing

BAS return preparation and reconciliation

Daily bank reconciliation

Credit card reconciliation

Payroll tax preparation

Cashflow forecasting

EOM journal preparation

Financial reporting

Manage prepayments and intercompany transactions, including reconciliations

Assist Finance Manager with annual audit

Applicant Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience directly related to some / all of Key Responsibilities

Bachelor’s degree or above (preferably in Accounting but will consider other qualifications / majors so long as other Applicant Requirements are met)

CPA / CA qualification completed, currently underway or commencing shortly

Strong English proficiency

Intermediate Excel proficiency

Xero accounting software experience (preferred)

Australian citizen or permanent resident
