Reporting into the Financial Controller, this Assistant Financial Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of month-end including bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, prepayments and accruals. You will work across multiple entities of the National Bus Service (NBS) Group ensuring on-time and accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist in the daily cash flow reporting, including cash management and bank reconciliations; proactively follow up with internal and external stakeholders to resolve outstanding discrepancies in the cashbook.

· Take full ownership of the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including:

· Accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, payments, and receipts.

· Managing supplier and customer queries to ensure strong vendor and client relationships.

· Monitoring aging reports, following up on overdue receivables, and resolving payment issues.

· Ensuring compliance with payment terms and company policies.

· Reviewing and improving AP/AR processes to increase automation and efficiency.

· Perform end-to-end reconciliations of the invoicing system with the profit and loss (P&L) statement.

· Accurately prepare and post general journal entries in accordance with accounting standards.

· Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports for all NBS entities, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

· Reconcile P&L and balance sheet accounts with comprehensive supporting documentation.

· Review and analyze expense line items, ensuring proper accruals, coding, and classification.

· Assist in providing insightful commentary and analysis on expense trends and balance sheet fluctuations.

· Support the annual audit process and ensure all external reporting obligations are met.

· Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts and annual budgets.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver financial insights and support strategic decision-making.

· Contribute to various ad hoc projects and initiatives as required, providing financial and operational support to team members.
