About Mawarnkarra Health Service (MHS)
Mawarnkarra (MHS) is the largest primary health care provider providing direct services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples living in the Roebourne area. MHS provides the families of Roebourne with a fully functional and accredited Clinic that treats approximately 3,000 people per year.

The Position
The role of the Men’s Outreach Worker is to ensure that the program objectives are met whilst working under the supervision and direction of Programs Manager. The focus is to meet the needs of the target community by providing social and emotional wellbeing support and services, including access services principally to men within the community. This will be achieved by working in Programs team environment, coordinating and collaborating with other Programs team members and planning the delivery of services including monitoring and evaluating outcomes to achieve stakeholder compliance.

The Requirements
Ability to communicate and work effectively with clients and staff including other Programs team members.
Ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion and provide support in highly stressful circumstances.
Ability to work with families in a supportive environment.
Ability to assess the needs of people living with a chronic disease and assist in getting access to services including health services based on their needs.
Ability to assess the needs of people exiting correctional facilities and assist in getting access to services including health services based on a needs assessment.
Ability to build a strong rapport with individuals that promotes improved health and wellbeing outcomes.
Ability to prioritise workloads.
Ability to collect, record data and assist in production of reports.
Ability to work collaboratively to develop a work plan and monitor outcomes on a regular basis, adapting plans to meet service needs.
Motivation to provide service excellence.
Ability to seek the advice and support of the Programs, Clinic staff and Senior Managers when necessary.
Commitment to ongoing participation in education, professional development, and quality assurance
Other Requirements
Experience in similar role would be desirable.
Must hold a current NDIS Worker Screening when role is to work with those with a disability.
Consent to undergo a Western Australia Working With Children Check and a National Police Certificate. Employment is conditional pending the outcome of these checks.
Must hold a current Australian Drivers Licence.
Current CPR Certificate.
All employees are subject to regular random drug and alcohol screening.
Candidates must live local to the Roebourne area or be willing to travel / to relocate to be considered. Housing is not included however there is housing allowance of $12,000 per year to assist with rent.
Remuneration Benefits include:
Hourly rate of $35 (part-time, 25 hours per week)
12% Superannuation
Housing and District allowances (subject to eligibility)
