ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a short fixed-term opportunity.
Based in the Centrecare Midland office, as a Case Worker you will work within the Family and EIFSS Program, providing assessment, case planning and support for families with medium to low risk factors and/or complexity to families who are most at risk of child protection intervention.
You will provide direct support, advocacy and referrals to families and their children to deal effectively with trauma caused by sexual abuse, family violence, alcohol and substance abuse, housing, health and justice issues by working alongside them to develop skills to enhance their safety and life skills. Priority access will be given to Aboriginal families. You will also drive, support and work within Centrecare’s Therapeutic Framework to ensure consistency in program design, program application (integrity), service delivery and outcome measurement.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Qualification in Community Services, Counselling, Youth Work or other related discipline
Demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, children and communities
Demonstrated abilities of case management and referral skills
Demonstrated abilities of assessment and support planning skills
Demonstrated ability to be part of a team and share knowledge and skills with others in order to deliver a quality service and achieve client outcomes.
Demonstrated interpersonal and written as well as verbal communication skills.
Understands legislation, regulations and external standards that apply to relevant work practices.
Demonstrated abilities of advanced computer skills including Case Management software and Microsoft Package (including Microsoft Outlook)
Demonstrated commitment to empowering and respecting children and young people.
Demonstrated ability to provide safe environments for children and young people and protect them from abuse and neglect.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
WA Working with Children Card
Police Clearance (dated within the last 3 months)
WA Drivers Licence
Department of Communities Screening (we'll help successful candidates to apply)
