We have an exciting opportunity for a Youth Worker (part-time: 20 hrs per week) on a fixed term contract (until June 2026) to be part of the Y’s Drumbeat program, delivering Drumbeat and complementary case management support to young people aged 10 to 11 years in Armadale (Perth, WA).

- You’ll be earning $76,557 - $82,387 per annum (pro rata)

What you’ll be doing
You’ll be delivering the Drumbeat program across various locations, tailored to the diverse needs of the client group. It includes providing short-term case management and support to young participants, offering referrals and relevant information to both them and their families. You’ll engage with a range of stakeholders , contribute to funding and social impact reports, and support young people in developing life skills and building capacity. Additionally, you’ll be known for your advocacy, information sharing, and referral support, while facilitating physically and mentally engaging activities that promote wellbeing and cultural awareness. This role also requires modelling professional values and best practices to clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
You’ll be great in this role if you…
- Have a certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services, or other relevant field
- Have a previous Drumbeat facilitator qualification.
- Have significant experience in outreach, youth work and individual support
- Have demonstrated experience in planning and implementation of activities, workshops and groups for young people aged 11-25
- Are known for your excellent interpersonal, communication skills and a capability to relate to and build relationships with a variety of young people and stakeholders
- Are experienced with issues young people are facing and referral pathways and services
- Can work autonomously to achieve set outcomes.
- Hold a high standard of professionalism, and integrity.
- Hold current First Aid and CPR qualifications or willingness to obtain
- Have a National Police Clearance and WA Working with children check card or willingness to obtain
- Retain a valid current C class Driver’s License
