Linux Engineer - OS Management - NV1 Clearance required

Location: Ballarat (preferred), Canberra, or Melbourne – Onsite
Clearance: NV1 Security Clearance required (Australian Citizens only)

• $80,000 – $100,000 incl. super (2+ years’ experience)
• $100,000 – $130,000 incl. super (4+ years’ experience)

About the Role We are seeking a skilled Linux Engineer (OS Management) to join our dynamic team supporting critical infrastructure. This role focuses on managing and supporting Linux environments, cloud services, and virtualization technologies, while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable Azure cloud architectures.
• Administer Azure PaaS services (App Services, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure SQL).
• Implement Azure security best practices (access controls, encryption, Azure Policy).
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates) and manage CI/CD pipelines.
• Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and implement security measures to safeguard systems.
• Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and resolve issues proactively.
• Administer and support VMware Cloud Foundation environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve virtualization and cloud infrastructure issues.
• Develop automation scripts (Bash, Python) to enhance operational efficiency.
• Contribute to service improvement through knowledge sharing and best practices.

What We’re Looking For

• Australian Citizenship with active NV1 security clearance
• 2+ years’ experience (mid-level) or 4+ years’ experience (senior-level) in Linux engineering, cloud, and virtualization.
• Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services, Linux OS management, and VMware.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, ARM templates).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Flexibility to work onsite 3 days per week (2 days WFH).
• Willingness to work in shifts, participate in on-call rosters, and perform after-hours deployments.
